The National Gallery of Victoria (NGV) is recruiting a Curator, First Nations Art to support the development, research, and presentation of its First Nations Art collection. This is a designated First Nations position, aligned with Section 12 of the Equal Opportunity Act 2010 (Vic).
Employment Details
- Contract: Full-time, fixed term (2 years)
- Salary: VPS 4.1 – AUD $92,332 per annum + 12% superannuation
- Reporting to: Senior Curator, First Nations Art
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and coordinate exhibitions and displays
- Contribute to the NGV Collections Strategy
- Maintain records, budgets, and schedules
- Assist with publications, learning programmes, and audience engagement
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders
- Contribute to team leadership and project management when required
Candidate Profile
- Must identify as First Nations
- Strong knowledge of First Nations art and culture
- Experience in curatorial practice, research, or exhibition management
- Familiarity with creative industries and institutional protocols
- Excellent organisational and communication skills
