The Institut für Auslandsbeziehungen (ifa) is dedicated to promoting culture, values, and peace worldwide. Job Description:
The curator will be responsible for the conceptualization and realization of globally and locally connected exhibition projects and accompanying programs, focusing on diversity, inclusion, and sustainability. The role will involve both physical and digital programming, with a strong emphasis on international networking and community building. The curator will also work closely with other ifa programs to ensure cohesion and synergy across activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement exhibition projects and accompanying programs for a wide audience.
- Translate and expand programs into digital formats.
- Actively network and build local and international collaborations and partnerships.
- Foster connections between gallery programs within ifa.
- Contribute to the broader organizational goals of ifa through engagement in the cultural and public sectors.
Requirements:
- A completed degree in Art History, Cultural Studies, Cultural Management, or a related field.
- Several years of experience in curating and managing exhibition projects and programs.
- Strong connections within the international contemporary art and culture scene, with a broad interest in societal, discursive, and transdisciplinary themes.
- Excellent management and communication skills, a high degree of flexibility, and strong teamwork abilities.
- Fluency in German and English, and preferably another foreign language (ideally non-European).
