Wellcome Collection is seeking a Curator – Interpretation to lead the development of inclusive and accessible interpretation strategies for its exhibitions on health and human experience. Working within the Curatorial and Public Practice department, this role plays a vital part in shaping a ten-year vision that centres diverse audience engagement.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop accessible exhibition interpretation, including written content, audio description, BSL resources, and visual stories
- Collaborate with curators and production teams to deliver inclusive visitor experiences
- Ensure consistency, clarity, and accessibility across all interpretive media
- Manage production of interpretation assets and liaise with external contributors
- Contribute to Wellcome’s inclusive and collaborative organisational culture
Candidate Profile
- Proven experience creating interpretation in museum, gallery or cultural contexts
- Strong writing and editorial skills to communicate complex ideas clearly
- Committed to accessibility and inclusion in exhibition-making
- Comfortable collaborating across disciplines and with diverse creative teams
