An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Tate Britain curatorial department as Curator, Modern British Art. An experienced curator in the area of Modern British Art, you will work as part of the Modern British Art team (covering circa 1900s-1980s). You will be responsible for the care and presentation of the twentieth century Collection, in particular of those works within the period 1940–1980s, and its development through acquisitions. You will be responsible for developing and delivering collection displays and curate exhibitions. A team player, you will be supervised by the Senior Curator, Modern and Contemporary British Art.
You will possess specialist knowledge of post-war British Art and will contribute to curatorial work on the Collection of British art within a global context. We welcome candidates who can bring new and under-represented perspectives and voices into their work with exhibitions and the Collection, particularly within the context of the legacies of colonialism, and ongoing racism and societal inequalities.
