About Cranbrook Art Museum
Cranbrook Art Museum serves elementary school students from Detroit Public Schools through onsite initiatives. It also caters to students from Cranbrook Schools, a private preK-12 college preparatory system, and Cranbrook Academy of Art, which offers master’s degrees in art, architecture, craft, and design. The museum houses a state-of-the-art Collections Wing facility, providing on-site storage for its collection of over 7,500 objects of 20th and 21st-century art and design. These collections are accessible to the public and classes through guided tours. In 2017, the museum opened its Art Lab, a dedicated studio classroom space for various media.
Located on the Cranbrook Educational Community grounds in suburban Detroit, the Art Museum is at the center of a 319+-acre historic campus. The Art Museum’s activities extend beyond the campus with extensive public art engagements throughout Detroit.
