Position Overview
Part-time (32 hours per week) · Rotterdam
Profile:
Seeking an individual with an art history degree and at least five years of curatorial experience. The role involves advising on acquisitions, loans, and restorations, conducting scholarly research, publishing findings, conceptualizing exhibitions and events, and enhancing knowledge about the collection. The curator should have a broad perspective on various disciplines and contribute to programs at Depot Boijmans Van Beuningen and Zuid. The role includes maintaining contacts with artists and collectors and is committed to public accessibility.
Job Description:
- Develop research presentations at Depot Boijmans Van Beuningen.
- Work on editions of Le Miroir Vivant.
- Contribute to collection displays and exhibitions post-reopening.
- Participate in the program at Zuid. Boijmans.
- Develop traveling exhibitions domestically and internationally.
- Perform scholarly research and contribute to exhibitions and publications.
- Advise on acquisitions, restorations, loans, and publications.
- Engage with audiences, lenders, collectors, and artists.
- Formulate new strategies and partnerships with other art institutions.
Qualifications:
- Generalist with a focus on international contemporary art.
- Demonstrable international network.
- Energetic, goal-oriented, with high professional standards.
- Minimum five years of relevant experience.
- Team player, informed about international art and societal developments.
- Published works and public speaking experience.
- Experience with digital collections database software, preferably TMS.
- Fluent in Dutch and English. Other languages are a plus.
- Preference for candidates residing in Rotterdam.
Offer:
