Our people are at the heart of National Museums Liverpool. Colleagues from across the NML team make a difference every day, creating memorable experiences for everyone and challenging expectations. We pride ourselves on being a place for everyone, but we are always aiming higher, aspiring to be representative of the communities we serve. Through our people, we are building a culture which embeds trust, respect and inclusion and an organisation in which people are engaged and empowered to enable National Museums Liverpool to evolve. You could be just the right person to join us.
We currently have the post(s) of Curator of Modern Day Slavery available.
The International Slavery Museum (ISM) is dedicated to increasing the understanding of transatlantic, chattel and other forms of slavery. We are a museum founded on community activism to engage, research and explore the impact and legacies of historic slavery. The museum has worked with many charities, organisations, activists, and artists and developed a small but growing collection of oral histories, objects, and artistic works highlighting various forms of modern slavery, which is an increasing area of interest for ISM.
We are undergoing a major capital transformation project to reimagine the Liverpool Waterfront that will raise the profile and position ISM within a network of local, national and international relationships. We are strengthening our staff team for the next step of our journey.
