Location: MIT Museum, Cambridge, Massachusetts
Contract: Full-time, Monday–Friday

The MIT Museum is seeking a Curator of Visual Arts, Media, and Technology to lead innovative exhibition programming at the intersection of art, science, design, and technology. The role includes stewardship of the museum’s collections in photography, holography, graphic design, and digital media. The curator will collaborate across MIT’s schools and centers—including the Media Lab and the Center for Art, Science & Technology—to produce impactful exhibitions, teaching programs, and public engagement initiatives.

Candidate Requirements

  • Master’s degree in art history, design, photography, or related field (PhD preferred)
  • 8+ years of curatorial or research experience in relevant fields
  • Deep knowledge of visual media, technology, and contemporary design
  • Strong project management, writing, and communication skills
  • Experience with exhibition planning, collection care, and public speaking
  • Familiarity with museum databases (e.g. MimsyXG, Piction DAMS) and imaging software
  • Physical ability to handle artifacts and travel locally
