The Photographers’ Gallery

The Photographers’ Gallery’s programme with and for young people is a significant area of the Gallery’s work. Our aim is to ensure young people feel welcomed and see the Gallery as a place where their curiosity, experiences and ideas can resonate with their own peer groups as well as the wider public. Our programmes aim to support young people in using photography and related media for enjoyment, expression, communication and, for some, toward and into a career.
The successful candidate for the role of Curator: Youth Programmes will possess an excellent understanding of the multiple challenges facing (and opportunities available to) young people, as well as families, teachers, schools and youth services. They will also have an understanding of how photography and related media has the potential to play a positive and important role in enjoyment, expression and learning. They will have a commitment to working in partnership with a range of individuals and organisations that seek to support young people under-represented in photography and wider visual culture.
