Excellent people skills are a must, and your approach will be collaborative, creative and inclusive.
In addition, you will assist the Artistic Director and Head of Programmes in the development, production, presentation and touring of Forma’s commissioning programme.
This role will suit you if you enjoy working in a small, close knit team that fosters a supportive environment towards the collective delivery of a project. One where you will be expected to work across multiple projects with varying lead times, and meet deadlines with a calm, ordered approach. The ideal candidate will have a good balance of curatorial, administrative and hands-on experience in the creation and presentation of new work, and an appetite to learn new skills in relation to the needs of a varied set of productions.
A unique knowledge of the national visual arts landscape would be of benefit.
Forma encourages a social, collaborative working environment that includes the entire team in the development of the organisation. Therefore there will be opportunities within the role to have creative input at different levels of the organisation, to travel and attend related events like Frieze fair.
As a public facing role, the Curatorial Assistant would be expected to work from FormaHQ, including evenings and weekends (compensated by time in lieu when appropriate). However some flexible working can be arranged.
