Museo La Tertulia is opening the call for applications for the position of Curatorial Assistant, a person responsible for supporting the Chief Curator in various tasks related to the management and research of temporary exhibitions and projects involving the collections, serving as a communication bridge between the museum’s various departments and the agents involved in the pre-production, production, and post-production processes.
Profile and Requriments
A professional in arts, history, art history, museology, cultural management, humanities in general, or related fields, with two (2) years of experience in the management and production of artistic or similar projects and theoretical-practical knowledge of curatorial processes within institutions or similar spaces. Knowledge of Latin American art and a second language (preferably English) will be positively valued.
A sensitivity toward the arts and an interest in research and curatorship; strong communication skills, process organization abilities, and experience in preparing and implementing budgets and timelines. Familiarity with exhibition project management or related formats (laboratories, residencies, interventions, etc.).
Personal and professional skills for effective interpersonal relationships with vendors, curators, artists, and other museum departments. Resourcefulness, creativity, organization, and a high capacity for initiative and adaptability. Willingness to work in a team. Proficiency in Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and basic knowledge of Adobe programs (Photoshop, Illustrator, or InDesign).
Responsibilities
The selected person will support the Curatorial team in the department’s daily operations, including research and documentation; preparation of materials for editorial projects and exhibitions (temporary and from the collections); and assistance with installation and deinstallation. They will also coordinate administrative tasks, which may include scheduling meetings, preparing reports and preproduction work agendas, and supporting budget management.
Main Functions

Coordinate and maintain contact with artists, curators, institutions, and other museum departments

Support preproduction and installation tasks

Coordinate joint work strategies with the Collections and Conservation department regarding loan processes, preparation, installation, and maintenance of artworks in exhibitions

Support the search for and application to funding sources

Coordinate and/or support various activities and processes of exhibition preproduction, production, and postproduction

Assist in outreach activities such as guided tours, workshops, or interviews
