The successful candidate will gain a clear understanding of museum procedures and processes. By the end of an 18-month contract, the Curatorial Assistant will have had the opportunity to research and contribute to the planning and development of exhibitions and displays and to support discussions about potential acquisitions
The Curatorial Department at Tate Britain is responsible for researching and building Tate’s Collection of British Art and for preparing Tate Britain’s programme of exhibitions, commissions and collection displays. This role has been created to support career development and to open up opportunities for working in the Curatorial department at Tate Britain.
Previous experience of working in a museum or gallery is not a requirement to undertake this role. We want to offer this role to those people who would benefit the most from it, both in terms of furthering their personal or professional development and who, in return, would have a new and different perspective to bring to our work.
