Job Overview

The Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York is looking for a Curatorial Assistant. This role involves supporting the Chief Curator at Large in various curatorial duties. Tasks include research, exhibition planning, and logistical support for a range of art initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Support in research, planning, and executing exhibitions and art projects.
  • Coordinate exhibition logistics, from artwork handling to program scheduling.
  • Contribute to MoMA publications, ensuring accuracy and engaging content.
  • Act as a liaison with artists, galleries, and other departments within MoMA.
  • Assist in curatorial duties related to the museum’s collection and acquisitions.
  • Ensure the upkeep and inspection of gallery displays and exhibitions.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in art history or related field, with museum experience.
  • Strong knowledge of global postwar and contemporary art from 1945 to present.
  • Language skills in French, German, or Asian languages are a plus.
  • Research and writing proficiency, with keen attention to detail.
  • Solid organizational skills and familiarity with standard office and creative software.
