Posting Summary:
The University Art Museum is seeking a Curatorial Assistant (CA). The Curatorial Assistant supports the Curator of Exhibitions and the Curatorial Department by providing general administrative support. The successful candidate will also assist in the editing of exhibition-related materials, and exhibition preparation as needed, which may include conducting research on works in the collection and for exhibitions. The CA is the liaison between Curatorial and other departments and will be responsible for ensuring that collection and exhibition materials are accurate and delivered in a timely manner. This position administers the year-long Curatorial Internship Program, including supervising as many as 6 undergraduate interns. The position also provides administrative support to the Curator, which will include assisting with the Collections Committee, the Exhibitions Committee, and exhibition meetings.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of art history and/or museum studies and administrative ability.
Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing
Ability to work well in team environment
Ability to prioritize and organize assigned project work
