Job Description
Established in 1965 by Texas philanthropist and oil financier Algur H. Meadows, the Meadows Museum at Southern Methodist University houses one of the largest and most comprehensive collections of Spanish masterpieces outside of Spain. The Meadows Museum collection includes masterpieces by El Greco, Velázquez, Ribera, Murillo, Goya, Miró, Calatrava and Plensa. With works dating from the 10th to the 21st century, the internationally renowned collection presents a broad spectrum of art covering a thousand years with a Spanish emphasis and is a unique resource for the university, North Texas community and visitors and scholars from around the world.
The Meadows Museum aims to build on existing scholarship in Spanish art through the pre-doctoral fellowship–made possible through a generous grant from the Center for Spain in America—to provide aspiring art professionals with an intensive scholarly, and international experience through the Meadows Museum’s curatorial department.
