Gallerie Splash announces an open call for the 2024 Curatorial Fellowship. This opportunity aims to support 3 emerging curators in bringing their creative visions to life through exhibitions or programs.
Objective
The fellowship focuses on helping emerging curators transform their ideas into physical exhibitions or programs. It promotes a diverse curatorial practice in Modern and Contemporary Art, Design Histories, and India’s Living Traditions.
Eligibility
Young curators with academic backgrounds in art, design, or related fields can apply. Applicants must show interest in critical theory and history and possess a strong curatorial vision. The fellowship encourages proposals from all backgrounds, especially those highlighting underrepresented voices.
Fellowship Details
- Duration: 2 months of mentorship with soon-to-be-announced mentors.
- Fellowship Fee: INR 50,000 for each curator.
- Exhibition/Program Budget: Includes a production budget and exhibition space in Delhi for May – June 2024.
- Travel and Accommodation: Flight tickets within India and 3 nights’ accommodation in Delhi are provided.
Selection Criteria
Applications will be evaluated on the clarity and relevance of the curatorial vision, ability to collaborate, contribution to cultural diversity, and the innovation and feasibility of the proposed project.
Deliverables
Fellows must submit a comprehensive exhibition proposal by April 2024 for the CCA at Bikaner House, considering the allocated space and budget. A final report documenting the exhibition’s development, impact, and challenges is required by the end of June 2024.
