Introduction
Jonathan Ruffer curatorial grants are designed to support curators in their research projects. These grants cover travel and practical costs for both UK and international research in collections and exhibitions.
Funding Details
- Small Grant: Up to £2,000. No fixed deadlines.
- Large Grant: £2,000+. Deadlines: 1 April 2024, 30 September 2024.
Eligibility
- Who Can Apply: Curators, museum professionals, researchers, and academics affiliated with non-profit museums, galleries, archives, or arts organizations.
- Who Cannot Apply: Individuals not associated with a UK-based museum, gallery, or arts organization.
Usage of Grants
Grants can be used for:
- Travel and accommodation for research trips and conferences.
- Training courses and study programs, including online.
- Subscriptions, e.g., archive subscriptions.
- Other activities that enhance curatorial skills and research projects.
Note: Grants cannot cover fees for the applicant or other research participants.

Post-Application
- Acknowledgment: Applicants will be notified within seven weeks of submission.

- Follow-on Relationship: Join the National Art Pass network for further support and promotion.
