Curatorial Intern
About the Organization
The Studio Museum in Harlem, founded in 1968, is a cultural leader that champions and preserves the legacy of artists of African descent. The museum promotes critical thinking about art, culture, and community. Established during the political and social upheavals of the late 1960s, the Studio Museum was created to provide visibility and recognition to artists of color. Today, it serves as a central hub for Black artists and works inspired by Black culture.
Internship Program Description
The Museum’s Internship Program offers college undergraduates, graduate students, and recent graduates valuable insights into professional museum operations. Interns collaborate on meaningful projects with museum staff and participate in workshops focused on contemporary museology. Only individuals authorized to work in the United States will be considered for the program, but the Museum welcomes expressions of interest from those willing to volunteer.
