The Position:
We are looking for motivated individuals who would like to join the Curatorial Team of The Jewish Museum and develop their knowledge of exhibition realization in a professional environment. The Museum seeks an intern who will assist the Chief Curator with upcoming exhibitions related to art and culture of the twentieth and twenty-first centuries. One of the forthcoming projects will examine the Museum’s rich history as one of the major New York venues for contemporary art under the direction of noted curated and scholar Alan Solomon. The intern will also assist with daily museum business.
Responsibilities Include:
The intern will research specific topics and be expected to share their research, organize pictorial material, and collect catalogue materials. In addition, the intern will perform general administration tasks such as (but not limited to) maintaining checklists and budget logs, maintaining mailing and invitation lists, general paperwork, and presentation materials. Library research will be assigned as necessary.
Requirements:
B.A. and M.A. candidates in Art History and related fields preferred.
Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and excellent organizational, research, and communication skills are a must.
