The LWL Museum of Art and Culture is looking for a curatorial researcher (f/m/d) for the Skulptur Projekte 2027 (EG 13 TVöD VKA).

Since 1977, the Sculpture Projects Münster have enabled encounters with works by well-known artists in public spaces. The international art exhibition initiated by Klaus Bußmann and Kasper König is held every ten years. The Sculpture Projects are sponsored by the Regional Association of Westphalia-Lippe (LWL) and the City of Münster. The Sculpture Projects are hosted and organized by the LWL Museum of Art and Culture. The LWL Museum of Art and Culture is a museum of the Regional Association of Westphalia-Lippe (LWL). It conveys, researches and preserves art and culture from the eleventh century to the present. In 2027, the Sculpture Projects Münster will be under the artistic direction of Ivet Ćurlin, Nataša Ilić and Sabina Sabolović (collective “What, How and for Whom/WHW”).

EXPECTATIONS
- a completed academic university degree (diploma (university)/master’s degree) in one of the following subject areas: art history, cultural studies, political science, curatorial studies, anthropology, architecture, urban planning, visual cultural studies
or
- another relevant academic university degree with reference to the tasks mentioned
as well as
- Practical professional experience in art or cultural institutions, preferably in work teams and artistic project work with art in public spaces
- an international network in the field of art and culture
- Interest in project-relevant, artistic and social issues, especially contemporary art and art in public spaces
- Ability to conceptualise, create and organise events (e.g. symposia, lectures, panel discussions, artist talks)
- Experience with public appearances and experience in dealing with the media (desirable)
- Negotiation skills, independent work, initiative, organizational talent and ability to work in a team, willingness to cooperate, flexibility and the willingness to work outside of normal working hours
- Very good written and spoken German and English skills, other languages are welcome
- Driving license class B
YOUR TASKS
- Scientific preparation and curatorial development of the concept of the exhibition, the accompanying publication material as well as selection and collaboration with the artists in question, accompaniment of the artists’ visits and finding the exhibition venues, each in collaboration with the artistic director
- Curatorial realization of the Sculpture Projects Münster 2027 including its work productions, agreements with offices of the city of Münster, each in cooperation with the project management
- Negotiations and cooperation with relevant institutions and cooperation partners
- Participation in public programs, scientific lectures, texts and media contributions to the public and to potential third-party funders
- Regular consultations with the sponsors of the sculpture projects in cooperation with the project management
- Content-related collaboration with departments in the LWL Museum of Art and Culture as well as scientific processing and documentation of the curatorial work and the works for the further development of the Sculpture Projects Archive
- Assistance in the acquisition of third-party funding and in the preparation of funding applications
