Eligibility: Open to national and international curators
LOOP Barcelona and Matadero Madrid’s Centre for Artists in Residence, in partnership with Fabra i Coats: Fábrica de Creación and Centre d’Arts Santa Mònica, present this call for curatorial entries, aimed at providing curators from around the world with workspace, funding, institutional support, and international visibility. Curators residing in Madrid or Barcelona are not eligible to apply.
Residency Overview
The residency consists of two stages:
- Barcelona Residency: May 2024, managed by LOOP in collaboration with Fabra i Coats: Fábrica de Creación and Centre d’Arts Santa Mònica.
- Madrid Residency: June 2024, managed by the Matadero Centre for Artists in Residence.
Upon completing the residency, the curator will organize two sessions in the first quarter of 2025 as part of the Video Tuesdays program at the Centre d’Arts Santa Mònica.
Objectives
This initiative aims to:
- Foster the professional growth of art curators.
- Provide institutional support, resources, and research opportunities for curators interested in the local art context.
- Create a supportive environment for successful residency outcomes.
- Facilitate connections among various art community stakeholders, institutions, and the public.
- Increase the visibility and internationalization of the selected curator’s work through presentations and public activities, including the Video Tuesdays program at the Centre d’Arts Santa Mònica and events within the LOOP framework.
