This international curatorial residency invites German curators or curators based in Germany to engage with the Belgian cultural landscape for three months. The programme explores curating in times of democratic crisis, examining the role of cultural institutions in supporting democratic self-understanding.
Residency Details
- Three-month residency in Antwerp.
- Accommodation in MORPHO’s shared residency house; individual workspace in the monastery.
- Use of project space, monastery garden, and shared facilities.
- Opportunity to present research results or develop a project.
- Collaboration possibility with David Van Reybrouck.
- Weekly sessions with all residents at MORPHO.
- Online presentation of work (website and social media).
- Newly commissioned portrait by artist-photographer Miles Fischler.
- Funding: €1,000 monthly fee (gross), up to €1,000 project budget, and up to €500 travel reimbursement. Family top-up: €100/month.
Eligibility Criteria
- Open to curators based in or from Germany.
- Demonstrated critical practice focused on democratic processes.
- Interest in curatorial research and engaging with Belgian cultural institutions.
- Inclusive of all ages, ethnic-cultural backgrounds, genders, and neurodiversity (with note on building accessibility).
