Curatorial Residency
Residencia AC/E – CAPACETE 2026
Institution: Acción Cultural Española (AC/E) & CAPACETE
Deadline: 12 April 2026 (23:59h)
Location: Rio de Janeiro, Brazil
Acción Cultural Española (AC/E), in partnership with CAPACETE, invites one Spanish (or Spain-based) curator, writer, or contemporary art researcher to participate in CAPACETE’s prestigious 2026 international residency programme in Rio de Janeiro.
CAPACETE is one of Brazil’s longest-running independent contemporary art residency programmes. Based in Rio de Janeiro, it operates as a mobile and discursive platform supporting research and documentation of aesthetic, social, and political processes across South America.
The 2026 edition, directed by researcher Rubens Takamine, is titled “Technologies of Approximation.” The programme expands the concept of technology beyond the digital realm, exploring ancestral knowledge, ritual practices, agriculture, and non-hierarchical forms of coexistence that reshape human life and contemporary thought.
