Curatorial Scholar Awards are open to curators who are engaged in significant curatorial work in the field of British art.
Eligibility
These awards are open to curators worldwide who are engaged in significant curatorial work in any area of British art. Proposed research projects should relate to the curatorial responsibilities of the applicant. Eligible areas of research include cataloguing, interpretation, the development of exhibitions, collections displays or digital projects, exhibition catalogues or other related museum publications, collections development, conservation, and object care. Priority will be given to those applicants with a demonstrated need for funding.
Award Period
Residency dates for successful applicants in the 2020–21 cycle may be held between July 1, 2020, and June 30, 2021, for a period between one to three months.
Travel and Accommodation
Awards cover the cost of travel to and from New Haven and provide accommodation as well as a living allowance. Recipients are required to be in residence in New Haven for the duration of their award and must be free of all other significant professional responsibilities during their stay.
Apply
The deadline for the 2020–21 application cycle is Monday, January 13, 2020. Applicants should complete the online application and upload a cover letter (no more than one page), a CV, and an outline of the project (no more than three pages) that includes an indication of the resources to be consulted at the Center and anticipated outcomes. The prefered months of tenure, a title for the research project, and the names of two referees must also be submitted.
