Curatorial Support Group Coordinator

Full-Time

The Museum is seeking a person with excellent interpersonal, organizational, clerical and computer skills to provide essential administrative support to the Chief Curator and Curators in the coordination of the Museum’s Support Groups.  The Support Group Coordinator will provide assistance in the management of the various Support Groups that contribute to our collection areas: 19th- and Early 20th-centuray European and American Art, Asian Art, Contemporary Art, and Photography & New Media.  This position handles requests for information and general inquiries while providing clerical assistance with support group tasks including membership databases and dues, support group events both on-site and off, group travel (locally and abroad), visits to area museums, and the organization of lectures and/or symposia. Additional departmental duties include responding to telephone inquiries, and serving as liaison with other Museum departments, visitors, and patrons. BA degree required, preferably in the Humanities, and MA preferred. Must have 1 – 3 years prior museum or non-profit experience and proficiency with MS Office suite (and preferably Razor’s Edge).  This role requires a high level of professionalism and discretion.  The ideal candidate will be proactive, efficient, and detail-oriented, with good follow-through and excellent communication skills.

  • The position reports to the Assistant Director/Chief Curator.
  • Schedule: 40 hours per week
