IMPAKT is seeking a Curatorial Support Intern to work on its 2027 festival, TRAUMA TRAFFICKING, curated by Ine Gevers and Cecile van Bruggen.
Taking place from 14–18 April 2027, the festival explores how trauma is increasingly presented, circulated and commodified within contemporary culture, particularly at the intersections of technology, media, identity and systems of power.
Internship activities
The intern will work closely with the festival curators throughout the development and production of the programme, gaining insight into the curatorial process from research and artist communication through to presentation.
Responsibilities include supporting meetings with artists and collaborators, taking minutes and tracking actions, communicating with project partners, maintaining documentation and preparing information and materials. The intern will also conduct research and assist with the practical coordination of the festival.
Depending on their interests and organisational needs, they may contribute to production, exhibition hosting, PR and communications, alongside general support for IMPAKT’s programmes and events.
The placement begins with a two-week handover alongside the current Curatorial Support Intern.
Candidate profile
Applicants should have a strong interest in contemporary art, digital culture, media and technology, and a solid academic or practical background in contemporary art, cultural studies, curating or a related field.
IMPAKT seeks someone organised, communicative and attentive to detail, who can work independently and collaboratively, take initiative and communicate confidently with artists and partners.
Previous experience in a cultural organisation, curatorial project, arts production or administration is an advantage, but applicants with strong knowledge of and enthusiasm for the field are also welcome.
