The Europäische Kunstakademie Trier is launching the fourth edition of its 18-month Curatorial Traineeship at the Kunsthalle Trier, offering early-career curators a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in all aspects of exhibition making. Participants will co-curate the Kunsthalle’s exhibition programme and realise an independent exhibition project.

Contract: Temporary, 60% working time (on site)

Salary: Based on 60% TVöD Entgeltgruppe 11 Stufe 1 (equivalent to a paid traineeship)

Languages: German required for final outputs; project can be developed in another language
Main Responsibilities

Curate and implement exhibitions

Develop publications and media content

Liaise with artists and manage art loans and transport

Write funding applications and manage approved budgets

Contribute to educational programmes and public events

Oversee social media and communications
Candidate Profile

University degree (within last 5 years) in art history, curatorial studies or similar

Demonstrated interest in contemporary art

Strong organisational and teamwork skills

Multilingualism and social media experience are an advantage
