Printed Matter is seeking a Deputy Director to provide strategic and operational support to the Executive Director while leading development efforts. This senior-level, full-time position plays a key role in fundraising, governance, and long-term planning as the organization approaches its fiftieth anniversary in 2026.
Primary Responsibilities
- Development (60%): Direct annual fundraising plan (~$1.3m), lead the 50th anniversary campaign, oversee donor management system implementation, and manage major events including the annual auction and spring benefit dinner.
- Leadership & Strategy (25%): Serve as strategic partner to the Executive Director, contribute to long-term planning, and support Board governance and fiduciary duties.
- Operations (15%): Support budget management, HR oversight, and union-related matters in coordination with Finance and HR leadership.
Qualifications
- 7–10 years of leadership experience in a nonprofit arts or cultural organization
- Proven track record in fundraising, grant management, budgets, and board relations
- Strong strategic planning and project management experience
- Operational and staff management experience in collaborative settings
- Commitment to leading with care and diplomacy
