Position: Development Coordinator
Organization: Printed Matter, a non-profit
Location: Chelsea, New York
Responsibilities:
- Organize and manage donor files, generate donor acknowledgements, and assist in fulfilling grant reporting requirements.
- Support various fundraising initiatives for Printed Matter’s programming, including exhibitions, publications, and the NY and LA Art Book Fairs.
- Support the implementation of a new donor database organizing all past, current, and prospective donors.
- Assist in creating and maintaining a donor communication calendar for various donor groups, including Members and our NY and LA Art Book Fair Committees.
- Research and identify government, corporate, and foundation funding sources, as well as assist in writing and preparing grant proposals.
- Support all aspects of the annual benefit dinner and art auction, from general administration to donor communications and design.
- Staff fundraising and cultivation events (approximately 2-4 per year).
Qualifications:
- Minimum of three years of professional experience, preferably in fundraising in the arts and culture sector.
- A passion for Printed Matter’s mission, and a working knowledge of contemporary art and the field of artists’ publishing.
- Strong organizational and data skills, experience with donor management systems a plus.
- Strong interpersonal skills, as well as written communication skills.
- Ability to work both collaboratively and independently as circumstances require.
Salary Range: $53,500–$55,500.
Full-time Union Position:
- 11 paid holidays (plus the week between Christmas Day and New Years’ Day).
