About The Mosaic Rooms
The Mosaic Rooms is a contemporary arts space in London, established in 2008, dedicated to presenting and supporting culture from the Arab world and beyond through exhibitions, live events, and creative learning initiatives. As the organization transitions to an independent charity in January 2025, it seeks a Development Manager to lead fundraising efforts and implement a sustainable financial strategy.
Role Summary
The Development Manager will work closely with the Director, overseeing the fundraising strategy and managing relationships with funders. This role is key to the organization’s long-term success, focusing on grants, individual giving, and earned income. The role requires active engagement in London’s arts sector and participation in outreach and networking events.
Key Responsibilities
- Fundraising Strategy: Develop and implement fundraising initiatives with the Director.
- Grant Writing and Fund Management: Identify funding opportunities, write grant applications, and manage donor relationships.
- Income Generation: Drive initiatives to increase income from sources like the bookshop and venue hires.
- Information Management: Maintain records on donations and funding agreements, and manage the CRM system.
- Networking and Outreach: Build relationships with stakeholders and represent The Mosaic Rooms in the arts community.
Essential Qualifications
- 5+ years in development/fundraising within an arts organization
- Strong fundraising skills, especially with trusts, foundations, and public bodies
- Excellent interpersonal, planning, and time management skills
- Knowledge of arts funding systems and familiarity with CRM databases
- Commitment to inclusivity, equity, and The Mosaic Rooms’ mission
Desirable Qualifications
- Strong network in national/international arts organizations
- Experience working with artists, producers, and curators
- Knowledge of audience development and public speaking skills
- Arabic language skills
