Digital Media Coordinator, Vilcek Foundation, New York, USA

Location: New York, USA
Salary: $90,000 – $105,000 per year
Reports to: Director of Digital

The Vilcek Foundation, dedicated to raising awareness of immigrant contributions to the United States and fostering appreciation of the arts and sciences, is seeking a Digital Media Coordinator. This role is responsible for designing, developing, managing, and distributing digital content across the foundation’s website, social media platforms, and programmatic initiatives, supporting creative projects, events, and social media strategy to enhance engagement and visibility.

Responsibilities

  • Produce and edit multimedia content, including stories, graphics, images, videos, and special creative projects (manga, coloring books, audiobooks)
  • Manage website content, optimize for SEO, accessibility, and user experience
  • Develop, implement, and monitor social media strategy across multiple platforms (Facebook, X/Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, Vimeo, BlueSky)
  • Track performance metrics, analyze data, and prepare reports to inform digital strategy
  • Coordinate with contractors, consultants, and vendors for creative and social media projects
  • Support cross-functional teams, including Digital, Communications, and Executive departments
  • Maintain organized digital archives of event materials, multimedia assets, and historical documentation
  • Assist with events, correspondence, and general administrative support as needed

Eligibility Criteria / Skills Required

  • BA or BS (in hand or in process) or equivalent experience in a related field
  • Minimum 5 years of experience managing social media or communications, preferably in arts, culture, or nonprofit sectors
  • Authorized to work in the United States
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills; ability to differentiate voice across social media accounts
  • Strong organization, attention to detail, self-motivation, and teamwork skills
  • Proficient with WordPress, Sprout Social (or equivalent), Adobe Creative Suite, video editing (Final Cut Pro X, Adobe Premiere), Canva, Salesforce, Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, macOS/iOS, and databases
  • Experience in graphic design, videography, and/or video editing preferred
  • Willingness to work outside normal hours for events or special projects
