Appointment of Director, Whitechapel Gallery
Whitechapel Gallery, London invites applications for the post of Director.
Whitechapel Gallery’s pioneering artistic and educational programme has been celebrated by local, national and international audiences for over a century. In 2009 the Gallery’s physical footprint doubled, transforming the adjacent former Whitechapel Library into new galleries and creative studio spaces. In two decades, its increasingly diverse audience has tripled. Seasonal exhibitions, commissions, collection and archive displays, events and workshops, now engage ever more artists, thinkers and makers annually.
The Director is responsible for the artistic vision, leadership and management of Whitechapel Gallery. Working closely with the Board of Trustees, they will lead the Gallery’s strategic direction and inspire the team to build on what has been achieved, ensuring, in a changing landscape, an ambitious, inclusive, dynamic and sustainable future for the Gallery.
