Job Description
In this executive-level role, you will merge strategic leadership with intellectual and academic expertise, both within your specific areas of responsibility and as a vital member of the Museum’s Executive Team. You will lead the planning and execution of initiatives to advance the Museum’s collections, which form the cornerstone of our public offerings, encompassing human history, natural sciences, and documentary heritage resources. Additionally, you will be tasked with shaping Auckland Museum’s research strategy and services.
Desired Skills and Experience
To excel in this role, you should possess:
- A relevant post-graduate tertiary qualification, accompanied by a demonstrable track record of contributing to the corporate management of a large and complex organization.
- A minimum of 15 years of relevant experience, including at least five years of strategic leadership and influence in collection development and management within a cultural institution or community organization.
- Proven leadership in an evolving digital landscape, with a deep understanding of digital practices and delivery.
