Director, Dublin

Irish Architecture Foundation (IAF) is seeking a new Director to help them write the next exciting chapter of their story. They are looking to appoint a highly experienced, enterprising, and motivated individual with a very strong sense for public engagement, who can establish the IAF as central to the development of the art and science of architecture.

The successful candidate will demonstrate thought leadership in devising and delivering strategic projects and policies that communicate architecture as part of culture and society and will present artistically ground-breaking exhibitions, events, and initiatives.

Working with the Board, creative team, and stakeholders, the new Director will be responsible for developing and implementing the IAF strategy and overall program. The post-holder will be an advocate for the IAF, mediating seamlessly between state and corporate stakeholders, maneuvering within national and international architectural, urban design, and creative networks, and ensuring a flourishing national and international profile.

IAF is a dynamic and highly recognized cultural organization that champions quality, innovation, and diversity within the field of architecture. It explores alternative approaches, to curation, learning, research, and public engagement.  It advocates for new ideas, it sets trends and discourse in contemporary architectural practice and its relationship to people, identity, society, and the environment. Part of the IAF’s role is to introduce people to exciting new possibilities by focusing on places and communities that have not previously encountered the value of architecture.

A not-for-profit arts organization, it presents a progressive and acclaimed program across five streams of activity; Curated Events, Learning, Open House Dublin, Placemaking, and Development. Between them, it enables, enriches, and inspires a broad and segmented audience of participants.

This very dynamic and unique platform will provide the right candidate with a very attractive opportunity to bring their skill set and vision to the table, helping take the IAF to even greater heights in the coming years.

If you have the drive, passion, and experience necessary for this role, please download the information pack, which outlines the application procedure.
