The Director of Exhibitions + Program Management is responsible for the strategic administration and implementation of the museum’s exhibitions program, project management oversight for the Collections, Exhibitions, and Design (CED) programs and activities, and the supervision and mentorship of the Exhibitions + Program Management (EPM) staff. They have primary responsibility for the high-level project management of the Collections, Exhibitions, and Design program, ensuring that the overall calendar aligns with museum priorities.
Reporting to, and working with the Chief Exhibitions + Collections Officer, the incumbent oversees a team of project managers managing, anticipating, and driving workflows for construction & fabrication, exhibitions, collections, and design. The position requires strong critical thinking skills and the ability to evaluate and make independent decisions about competing priorities that support the museum and CED division’s overall objectives and plan.
This position also works closely with Executive Team, senior staff, as well as SFMOMA trustees and donors. SFMOMA believes the art of our time is vital and shares it with passion and purpose.
