About NALAC

Since 1989, the National Association of Latino Arts and Cultures has been instrumental in strengthening and revitalizing the US Latinx/é arts and cultural sector. The organization provides funding, leadership training, convenings, research, and advocacy. NALAC serves a diverse community of Latinx/é artists and nonprofit Latinx/é arts and cultural organizations across various regions.

Location

This is a hybrid position open across the United States, with a travel budget for monthly meetings at the headquarters in San Antonio, Texas.

Program Director Role

NALAC seeks a Director of Programs to oversee and manage its suite of programs. This senior role involves working closely with the Chief Strategy Officer and Chief Executive Officer to set and achieve program goals in line with the organization’s strategic objectives. Responsibilities include overseeing training institutes, trainings, grantmaking opportunities, and research initiatives.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate a commitment to racial justice and cultural organizing, possess excellent organizational and communication skills, and have extensive experience in program and grants management.

Job Responsibilities

  • Collaborating across departments to plan and deliver programs.
  • Developing and monitoring program budgets and plans.
  • Establishing performance metrics for programs.
  • Managing program data and systems.
  • Working with senior staff and the board of directors on program reporting and development.
  • Supervising and coaching staff members.
  • Ensuring compliance with funding restrictions.
  • Facilitating meetings and liaising with external partners.

Compensation & Benefits

NALAC offers a transparent salary range of $100,000 – $110,000 annually, plus a comprehensive benefits package including health insurance, retirement plan, paid time off, and technology stipends.

Preferred Experience and Qualifications

  • Minimum seven years of program management experience.
  • Proven success in developing and managing programs.
  • Strong financial planning, project management, and CRM skills.
  • Passion for the Latinx/é arts and cultural sector.
  • Excellent communication skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Strategic thinking and multitasking abilities.
  • Bilingual in Spanish is preferred.
