Editor – M+ Museum, Hong Kong

Contract: Full-time, fixed-term (2 years, renewable based on performance and organizational needs)

M+ Museum, a leading institution dedicated to modern and contemporary visual culture in Hong Kong, is seeking an experienced Editor to manage editorial content across exhibitions, publications, and digital platforms. The role involves working closely with curators and other departments to ensure clarity, consistency, and editorial excellence in all published materials.

Key Responsibilities

• Edit and proofread exhibition texts, public program materials, learning content, and web content.
• Contribute to the editorial direction of M+ print publications.
• Collaborate with internal departments such as Marketing, Communications, and Public Affairs to maintain consistency in language and content.
• Work with external stakeholders, including designers, translators, and copy-editors.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism, Art History, Visual Culture Studies, or a related field.
• Approximately 5 years of experience in editing within a museum or related fields such as art journalism or publishing.
• Strong experience managing editorial processes and workflows.
• Familiarity with editing content in art, design, architecture, and cinema.
• Proven ability to develop and implement editorial policies and guidelines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English (Chinese proficiency is preferred).
