Artlab Editorial, an initiative by Hyundai Artlab, invites applications for the 2026 Artlab Editorial Fellowship. The programme supports two art writers from anywhere in the world and at any career stage whose work demonstrates critical empathy in contemporary art writing—balancing care and critique, intellectual rigour and imaginative inquiry.
Established in 2022, Artlab Editorial seeks to foster meaningful dialogue and strengthen the global ecosystem of critical art writing. The Fellowship provides financial support and structured mentorship to develop new editorial content for publication throughout 2026.
Fellowship Format

Two selected Fellows

$10,000 USD per Fellow

Duration: May–December 2026

Three web-based editorial pieces per Fellow

One 800-word article in English every other month

Eight-week development cycle per article

Monthly editorial check-ins
Fellows will receive one-on-one mentorship from one of the 2026 Fellowship Advisors:

Mira Dayal (Senior Editor at Triple Canopy)

Gary Zhexi Zhang (artist, writer, tutor at the Royal College of Art)
They will also work closely with Artlab Editorial’s Editor, Shannon Lee, for ongoing development and publication guidance.
