
Education and mediation (m/f/d)
The documenta und Museum Fridericianum gGmbH is looking for an employee (m/f/d) in the field of education and mediation for the Fridericianum as soon as possible. This is a full-time position limited to February 28th, 2027.
The non-profit GmbH is responsible for the documenta exhibition, which takes place every five years, the Fridericianum, the documenta archive, which is being developed into the documenta Institute, and the documenta Halle. The Fridericianum was opened in 1779 as one of the world’s first public museums. Today the institution is an internationally renowned exhibition venue for contemporary art. Under the direction of Moritz Wesseler, a wide range of positions will be presented, ranging from new discoveries to more established protagonists of the art discourse. A comprehensive program of events also makes the house a lively place for exchange on contemporary cultural production.
As an employee in the field of education and outreach, you are directly involved in the development of an outreach/event program at the Fridericianum. The weekly working time is 40 hours. The place of work is Kassel.
Your tasks include:
– Conception, planning, implementation and follow-up of educational and mediation offers for various target groups. Particular attention should be paid to inclusion.
– Scheduling, personnel and budget planning
– Creation of didactic materials
– Training of art mediators for guided tours and workshops
– Carrying out guided tours
– Proactive addressing of a broad public – especially kindergartens, schools – to attract new groups of visitors and expand networks
– Development and realization of digital mediation formats
Your profile:
– Completed university studies in the field of art history, art education, art science or cultural studies with a corresponding subject-specific focus
– Appropriate work experience
– Excellent teamwork and organizational skills
– Very good verbal and written communication skills
– Openness to interdisciplinary teamwork
– Willingness to perform, flexibility, reliability and the willingness to take on responsibility to an extent that is reasonable for the position
– Very good knowledge of the English language, both written and spoken
– Social, communicative and intercultural competence, creativity
– Resilience and endurance
