The Education Coordinator leads and supports innovative art education programs and projects, enhancing learning through contemporary art.

Overview

The Education Coordinator at Art21 plays a crucial role in developing and supporting educational programs and initiatives. This position involves close collaboration with the Director of Education to enhance and create educational content, manage teacher workshops, and ensure effective communication across platforms. The role demands a deep understanding of contemporary art and education, strong writing and administrative capabilities, and a track record of teamwork and effective collaboration.

Key Responsibilities

Program Coordination

  • Manage and facilitate events for adult learners, especially educators, including summer institutes and workshops.
  • Set and achieve program goals, assist in marketing, and take part in the Art21 Educators selection process.
  • Maintain a private social networking platform for Art21 Educators.

Event Management

  • Help develop program calendars and publicity materials.
  • Handle event logistics, technology needs, and participant support.
  • Conduct post-event follow-ups, including evaluations and debriefings.

Content Development and Communication

  • Create new teacher workshops, from goal setting to leading sessions and gathering feedback.
  • Contribute to interpretive content, such as Educators’ Guides and articles.

General Administration

  • Keep records and contact lists up-to-date.
  • Track and analyze program feedback.
  • Collaborate across departments to support Art21’s mission.

Qualifications

  • BA or BS in a relevant field, with 2-4 years of experience in contemporary art education.
  • Experience in program management and professional development.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and creative problem-solving skills.
  • Technical proficiency, including familiarity with online platforms, social media, and design software.

Additional Details

  • Salary: $66-68k annually, with a comprehensive benefits package.
  • This is a full-time position based in New York City, requiring regular office visits and in-person event attendance.
  • Evening and weekend work, as well as travel, will be necessary.
