Salary: $80,000
Reporting to the Artistic Director, the Head of Public Programmes and Learning is responsible for leading and developing dynamic and engaging Public and Learning Programmes at MOCA Toronto. The incumbent will unite curatorial content, educational objectives and audience development goals to provide integrated and meaningful ways to engage the Museum’s diverse audiences.
In collaboration with the Artistic Director, senior colleagues and guest members of the programming team, the Head of Public Programmes and Learning will develop robust, interdisciplinary exhibition-related programmes that are both locally germane and internationally revered. They will work with existing and new partners across the city, country and beyond to establish relevant and interconnected models for in-person and digital experiences. These educational opportunities will enhance the Museum’s work to expand its reach and advance access to and interpretation of contemporary art.
In keeping with the Museum’s priorities and goals, the incumbent will foster programming that involves schools, youth, families, and adults while ensuring accessibility to special interest groups. In particular, the incumbent will have the opportunity to oversee the vision, direction and implementation of an OTF Grow Grant, which will allow the Museum to build capacity with schools, students, interns and the wider community.
Applicants should hold a Master’s degree in a relevant cultural subject and have a minimum of five years working in a museum or cultural institution in a public programming and/or learning position with direct reports.
