Introduction Pearle*, established in 1991, serves as the European voice for the live performance sector. The organization represents over 10,000 theatres, production companies, orchestras, opera houses, and dance companies, among others. As an employer and sector federation, it advocates for these members at European and international institutions. Pearle* is deeply involved in policy and regulatory issues that affect the live performance sector.
Role Description Pearle* seeks a knowledgeable and service-oriented European Affairs Adviser to join the team in Brussels. The ideal candidate should understand the regulatory environment at both European and international levels. A day at Pearle* is dynamic, with varied tasks allowing team members to leverage their skills in support of the organization’s goals.
Responsibilities
- Monitor EU affairs and track regulatory developments
- Analyze legislative initiatives and regulations
- Engage with European institutions like the Commission and European Parliament
- Represent Pearle* in expert groups and meetings
- Coordinate stakeholder groups and consult with members on EU law interpretation
- Draft briefing notes, position papers, and other communications
- Develop advocacy strategies and participate in European projects
Candidate Profile
- Master’s degree or equivalent
- Strong knowledge of EU law and legislative processes
- Relevant work experience in an international environment
- Highly organized and deadline-oriented
- Excellent communication skills in English; other European languages are a plus
- Ability to work flexibly and adapt to new environments
