Overview
As an Events Coordinator, you will play a crucial role in organizing Flo. Literary Magazine’s launch parties and various community-oriented events.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate with Venues and Performers: Establish communication via email to secure venues and performers.
- Launch Events Planning: Plan two launch events that align with the winter and summer publication releases.
- Writing Workshop: Organize one writing workshop.
- Event Planning: Devise one additional event of your choosing (subject to funding availability).
- Collaboration: Work closely with team members to develop promotional materials for events.
Required Skills
- Initiative: A self-starter attitude is essential for this role.
- Communication: Exhibit excellent communication skills both via email and phone.
- Organization: Strong organizational skills are crucial for coordinating multiple tasks effectively.
- Multitasking: Ability to manage and prioritize multiple responsibilities.
Commitment
- Time: Expect a monthly commitment of 4-8 hours (may vary based on needs).
- Duration: The position is for one year.
- Start Date: Commencing from November 1.
Compensation
- Honorarium: Receive an honorarium of $125.00 per event.
Location
- Hybrid: The role is hybrid, involving remote work and in-person attendance at events in Ottawa, ON.
