Exhibition and Program Manager
The Exhibition and Program Manager is responsible for coordinating the artistic, public and educational programs and contributes to the development and planning of artistic programs. The Exhibition and Program Manager reports directly to the Executive Director/Chief Curator and works closely with the Curator, Associate Director, Development Director and the Operations Manager. The Exhibition and Program Manager supervises installation crews, interns and volunteers and maintains positive working relationships with exhibiting artists, Trustees, donors, and colleagues within the field of contemporary art. This position is full time and requires some weekend and evening hours.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Coordinates all aspects of exhibitions ensuring timely and professional installation of exhibits, securing loans, maintaining exhibit related records such as condition reports and artwork registration. Manage production of new work, liaising with artists, curators, vendors and fabricators. Conduct research and participate in planning of exhibitions. Arrange artist travel, artwork shipment and equipment rental and other needs of exhibiting artists and curators. Create and manage production timelines, installation plans and schedules. Work directly with Executive Director/Chief Curator, Curator, guest curators, Head Installer, and artists to develop and monitor project budgets.
Ensure proper maintenance and care of works on view.
Maintain long-range exhibition calendar and short-term programs calendar ensuring relevant staff are aware of deadlines and critical paths.
Coordinate production of catalogs and printed materials related to exhibitions. Generate concise and lucid texts for various applications, including interpretive signage, educational materials, catalogues and other publications, grant proposals, etc.
Work with curatorial team in planning engaging public programs on and off-site. Organize programs, communicating with presenters and collaborating organizations, coordinating a/v and other presentation needs, securing film rentals, arranging travel, etc.
Act as project manager for annual public art and education program organized in collaboration with partner schools and organizations. Work with freelance educator to coordinate curriculum, recruit students, conduct outreach to schools and organizations, manage production of public art work.
Develop and post content on electronic and social media platforms including SculptureCenter’s website and tumblr.
Plan and execute workshops and other educational programs for children and youth. Conduct tours of exhibitions for school and community groups.
Collaborate with development staff on fundraising activities including special events, limited edition artworks and other special projects as requested.
SPECIFIC DUTIES:
Attend SculptureCenter events including opening receptions, fundraising events, public programs etc, weekly staff meetings, Board of Directors and Committee meetings as requested.
Provide information as necessary to the Development and Marketing Departments for promotion of exhibitions and events and to bookkeeper for proper tracking of expenses.
Supervise interns in executing these responsibilities.

QUALIFICATIONS AND KEY REQUIREMENTS:
1. Bachelor’s degree in art, art history, art education or related field.
2. 2 years arts administration experience
3. Knowledge of contemporary visual arts, artists and institutions
4. A creative problem solver with excellent organizational, communication, and project management skills.
5. Ability to prioritize tasks and responsibilities in a flexible and responsive environment
5. Experience developing and managing budgets
7. Experience working with diverse groups of people including supervision, collaboration and in a support role.
