Reports to: Head of Prints, Drawings, and Photographs
Deadline: Rolling basis
The Philadelphia Museum of Art is seeking an Exhibition Assistant to support two forthcoming special exhibitions. This entry-level role works closely with curators, registrars, conservators, and exhibition designers, coordinating research, object information, and interdepartmental communication throughout all stages of exhibition planning.
The position is a two-year term, beginning March 16, 2026 and ending March 10, 2028.
Key Responsibilities

Assist with research and preparation of exhibition materials and publications

Develop and maintain TMS exhibition module and object packages

Obtain publishable photographs and permissions

Research bibliographic references for exhibited works

Communicate object information and installation plans to exhibition teams

Coordinate conservation preparation for artworks

Draft object labels

Attend project meetings and support interdepartmental coordination

Liaise with external exhibition partners

Perform additional assigned duties
Qualifications

B.A. or equivalent (Art History or Museum Studies preferred)

Prior research experience

Experience with modern printmaking and drawing preferred

Strong organizational, communication, and time management skills

High attention to detail

Teamwork experience

Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access)

Experience with collections management systems; TMS preferred
