Exhibition Coordination

The Museo Nacional del Prado is seeking applicants for a permanent Exhibition Coordination Management Technician (N2). This competitive selection process includes both a qualifying opposition phase and a merit-based competition. Applicants who pass the opposition phase but do not secure the permanent position may be placed on a temporary hiring list for future vacancies.
Responsibilities:
- Planning, monitoring, and coordinating temporary exhibition activities at the Museo Nacional del Prado.
- Managing technical aspects of exhibitions, including documentation, evaluation, and budget control.
- Negotiating and handling national and international loans.
- Supporting exhibition curators, overseeing the installation and dismantling of exhibitions, and ensuring the preventive conservation of artworks.
- Coordinating transport logistics, insurance policies, and the production of exhibition graphics.
- Liaising with internal departments and external collaborators to ensure smooth exhibition execution.
Requirements:
- University degree (or equivalent) recognized by EU member states.
- In-depth knowledge of public administration, museum management, cultural heritage legislation, and international standards for moving and handling cultural goods.
- Experience in exhibition management, knowledge of the Prado’s collections and history, and fluency in Spanish and English (with proficiency in French or Italian preferred).
- Strong organizational, communication, and project management skills, and proficiency in software tools for planning and documentation.
Salary: €40,574.77 gross annual salary
Contract: Permanent, 40 hours/week
