Responsibilities:

  1. Oversee all stages of contemporary art exhibitions, including design, production, installation, operation, and dismantling.
  2. Collaborate closely with Artists, Curators, Design & Build Collaborators, and other contractors for exhibition and artwork productions, ensuring adherence to budget, timelines, safety, and venue requirements.
  3. Handle exhibition finances, including budget proposals, allocations, monitoring, procurement, and financial reporting.
  4. Coordinate the exhibition timeline, encompassing planning, production, logistics, installations, maintenance, and dismantling.
  5. Organize merchandise arrangements, including vendor procurement, prototyping, production, and travel arrangements for artists and partners.
  6. Negotiate and manage contracts and liaisons with partner institutions, artists, curators, and contractors.
  7. Acquire necessary licenses for exhibitions and ensure compliance with licensing and safety requirements.
  8. Contribute to exhibition and departmental strategies, meetings, and project execution.
  9. Facilitate effective communication and working practices with internal and external parties regarding exhibition standards.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in art history, museum studies, arts administration, cultural management, or related fields.
  • At least 3 years of experience in managing contemporary art exhibitions and cultural projects, with a focus on contemporary artwork production.
  • Strong project management, administration, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines.
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and preferably Microsoft Project or equivalent.
  • Fluency in English and Chinese.

Less experienced candidates may be considered for the Assistant Exhibition Manager position.
