Job Description:
KÖR Kunst im öffentlichen Raum Wien is seeking an experienced Exhibition Production Manager to manage and execute art projects in public spaces. The main responsibilities include:
- Functional leadership of the production area, overseeing planning, implementation, control, and evaluation of all production activities.
- Professional project management, ensuring timelines and contract regulations are met.
- Budget planning, controlling, and compliance, including production cost calculations and contract negotiations in collaboration with the curatorial team.
- Organizing and managing artistic competitions and overseeing the production of artworks, including insurance and transportation arrangements.
- Managing contracts, including travel arrangements for artists, and handling permits for construction and event-related activities.
- Overseeing the installation and deinstallation of artworks, ensuring smooth communication among all involved parties.
- Supporting curatorial documentation of projects and serving as the interface between curators, artists, external producers, and municipal authorities.
Requirements:
- Strong affinity for contemporary art and experience working with artists.
- Relevant professional experience in project or exhibition production, or architecture.
- Basic technical and urban planning knowledge, including experience with official permit processes and public events.
- Proficient in handling artworks and managing artist relations.
- Excellent communication skills in German and English, both written and spoken.
- Strong IT skills, with knowledge of MS Office (SketchUp knowledge is a plus).
- Organized, structured, and deadline-driven, with excellent planning skills.
- A team-oriented, communicative individual who works independently and responsibly.
