Gallery 1957, a contemporary art gallery with spaces in Accra and London, seeks an Exhibition Production Manager to lead the planning, execution, and operational delivery of exhibitions, residencies, and external events. This senior role requires strong project management, creative problem-solving, and excellent communication skills, with responsibility for budgets, teams, and high-profile stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead planning, production, installation, and de-installation of exhibitions and events.

  • Develop detailed timelines, budgets, and checklists.

  • Collaborate with artists to refine concepts and realize their vision.

  • Source materials, vendors, and production services globally.

  • Oversee photography, documentation, and promotional materials.

  • Manage internal production meetings and cross-functional teams.

  • Supervise exhibition teams, interns, and assistants; provide mentorship.

  • Maintain daily gallery operations and visitor engagement.

  • Support logistics for international art fairs and external events.

  • Draft press releases, social media content, and communications plans.

  • Cultivate relationships with artists, collectors, curators, and partners.

Eligibility Criteria / Required Skills

  • 3–5+ years experience in gallery management, exhibition production, or project management.

  • Proven leadership and team management experience.

  • Excellent organizational, planning, and multitasking skills.

  • Strong communication skills, including press and marketing content production.

  • Proficiency in Artlogic, Microsoft Office, Google Suite; familiarity with Adobe Suite or Canva preferred.

  • Ability to travel internationally for fairs, exhibitions, and residencies.

  • Creative problem-solving skills and ability to manage complex projects.
