About the Role
The Exhibitions Assistant provides administrative and organisational support to the Curatorial team, contributing to the planning, delivery, and documentation of exhibitions, displays, live events, and acquisitions at Tate Modern.
About the Team
Since opening in 2000, Tate Modern has developed a world-renowned programme of exhibitions, commissions, live performance, and film. The Curatorial team sits within the Tate Modern Division and is responsible for delivering this ambitious programme to the highest standards, particularly following the expansion enabled by the Blavatnik Building.

What You Will Do
General Office Administration
- Act as first point of contact for enquiries to the Curatorial team
- Greet guests, organise refreshments, and arrange complimentary tickets
- Process expenses and credit card transactions
- Support general office and departmental administration
Exhibitions & Programme Support
- Assist with planning and delivery of exhibitions, projects, and live events
- Support symposiums, performances, and public programmes
- Maintain accurate records and databases
- Create and update exhibition checklists with Assistant Curators
- Arrange travel, accommodation, and per diems, monitoring carbon impact
- Schedule meetings, take minutes, and maintain records
- Prepare presentations and support image handling
- Assist with exhibition layouts using SketchUp (2D and 3D)
- Support installations, artwork photography, and virtual couriering
- Raise purchase orders and process invoices
- Coordinate project materials for Gallery Records
Collections & Acquisitions
- Support the acquisitions process and funding administration
- Organise Acquisition Committee meetings and take minutes
- Liaise with artists, dealers, collectors, and estates
- Maintain acquisition records and complete proposal forms

- Proven administrative experience in a busy office environment
- Excellent organisational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities
- Strong interpersonal and written communication skills
- High attention to detail, including accuracy with figures
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Experience using databases and high computer literacy

- Interest in and commitment to Tate’s work
Desirable
- Previous experience in a museum or gallery
